Genuine Mansfield Flush Valve Seal 630-0030

This is the Mansfield genuine 630-0030 flush valve seal. This part is easily identifiable by the color, and size. This seal is designed for all Mansfield rigid flappers, and tower style flush valves. As this part ages it can develop a curve, or bend that can cause a suction between the tower, and seal making the toilet hard to flush which can break the lever, stop cap, or the flush valve itself. The flush valve seal is also the most common part that will cause a leak from the toilet tank to the bowl. This issue is often reffered to as a "ghost flush", because the fill valve will come on randomly to replinish the water that had leaked out. The best way to test to be sure that the seal is causing the leak is to fill the toilet tank a few inches above the red seal with water. You will then shut the water supply off to the toilet, so it cannot replinish the water that leaks out. After the water drains look to see where the leak stops. If it is at the lip of the red seal you will just need to replace the 630-0030, but if there is little to no water at all left in the tank. You would have to replace the complete flush valve, because that would mean the rubber gasket that seals between the flush valve, and the tank has gone bad.
